New web series ‘Anger Tales’ starring Bindu Madhavi, Venkatesh Maha, Tarun Bhascker, Madonna Sebastian and others is all set to stream from March 9. The soon-to-be-launched anthology revolves around various characters and their emotional journeys towards a tipping point and its consequences.
The first teaser of the series has managed to grab some eyeballs with its unique cut. Interestingly, Bigg Boss Non-Stop winner Bindu Madhavi has broken the mould and played the role of a mother in the soon-to-be-launched series.
In a freewheeling chat with ETimes TV, Bindu spoke at length about signing up for the series, her role and more.
Giving a peek into what went into giving a nod for this role and series, Bindu said, "When I was first given a telephonic narration, I could almost instantly connect to the storyline. You know homemakers are often taken for granted. Even when we look back into our families, we can relate to this alot. Somehow, we don't think twice to yell at Amma but we are watchful when it is dad. These little things are something I got connected to in the script. Anger Tales is what happens when such characters revolt. I almost gave a 'Yes' instantly. I play this homemaker Radha, who is also one such homemaker. This is in a way an ode to all our mothers and such homemakers."
Talking about signing up for the role of a homemaker despite a sensational win in Bigg Boss Non-Stop, Bindu shared that her BB journey has also contributed towards the change in her lately.
"Bigg Boss was a much required morale booster for me. Winning the show gave me the confidence and external validation I was lacking back then," says Bindu.
She adds, "Also, I come from nowhere, with no filmy background. So, I kept following what I was told. Good hero, production house or a director, only these were my criteria during my heydays. Nobody tells you what kind of roles to do. But guess now I feel I can handle things better. Now, I can confidently say 'NO' if I don't want to be part of something, without any guilt. I'm just saying yes to any meaty role no matter why I'm getting it."

Talking about sharing screen with some promising actors like Venkatesh Maha, Suhas, Ravindra Vijay and others, Bindu said, "This is an anthology and did not get many scenes together. I was excited to be a part of such an amazing cast and I'm looking forward to witnessing their magic in the film. What you saw in the teaser was just the tip of the iceberg."
She was all praises for the young team of Anger Tales. "The moment I stepped into the sets, I knew I was in safe hands. I never felt like working with a new team. The synergy, out of the box thinking and clarity of thought that this new team has is incredible," she said.
Ask what kind of scripts Bindu wants to be a part of, she instantly says, "I want to do an out and out action film. I somehow like it when a girl does it. Hope I get to do an action entertainer soon."
She is an ardent fan of Kamal Haasan and here she proves why. "Also, I want to work with the legendary Kamal sir. Interacting with him in Bigg Boss was different. Watching the man in action, perform, create magic with his eyes, emote the same expression in ten different ways is something beyond words. It is an experience in itself," says an excited Bindu.
